During fall semester 2008, Cheryl Pankow, a mathematics instructor at Ridgewater College in Willmar, MN, created and distributed a survey to the Minnesota State College and University (MnSCU) assessment coordinators and others responsible for assessment on individual campuses. One of the survey questions asked what websites or materials are suggested for student review to prepare before they take the Accuplacer math placement exam. The links on this website are a complete list of all the various sites that were suggested throughout the MnSCU system. Sometimes a site was recommended by one MnSCU institution; sometimes a site may have received multiple recommendations. The sites have been grouped into three main categories - those designated as specifically for preparing for the Accuplacer math placement exam, those for general review of math concepts, and several for preparation for other placement exams. Under the main category of Accuplacer sites, there are three subgroups - those developed by MnSCU faculty, from other colleges or universities, or general sites. The sites for general review of math concepts and skills are sub grouped into with text support, without text support, and with audio support. Each link has been reviewed and a brief summary has been written for each. Many thanks to the colleges and universities in the MnSCU system for sharing their favorite sites.
